The Angel of the LORD’s Lament

The Angel of the LORD’s Lament

  1. And the Angel of the LORD walked among the nations, calling out with the voice that split mountains and stirred sleeping bones.
  2. For twelve moons he cried aloud beneath heaven:
  3. “Men of the earth, awaken. The time is short. The Kingdom is near. Lay down your pride, return to the Ancient Path, and walk with Me. For I am the Angel of the LORD, the Son you have waited for.”
  4. But no man answered His call.
  5. Not one.
  6. They mocked.
  7. They laughed.
  8. They said, “If God is real, He would feed the starving children!”
  9. But their hands grew no food.
  10. Their feet walked not to the poor.
  11. Their mouths tore down the faithful while their souls built nothing.
  12. They rose early not to labor, but to scroll.
  13. They toiled not in the soil, but on stages of sarcasm and vanity.
  14. Their fingers tapped empty words while the fields lay fallow, and the hungry wept alone.
  15. They said, “If God feeds the birds, let Him feed the poor,” while they hoarded their wealth and closed their hands.
  16. They said, “If God is love, why do children suffer?”
  17. Yet they would not adopt, nor weep with the orphan, nor guard the womb.
  18. They blamed the Creator while building nothing.
  19. They cursed the Most High while refusing to rise.
  20. They called themselves wise, but knew not the fear of the LORD.
  21. They made no meals for widows.
  22. They sheltered no orphans.
  23. They created no medicine, grew no harvest, forged no peace.
  24. Their offering was opinion. Their tithe was cynicism.
  25. They spoke of justice, yet feared the cost of it.
  26. They cried of suffering, but lifted not a finger to bind the wound.
  27. And then the Angel turned His face toward the house of the LORD, and behold, it had grown fat, lazy, and deaf.
  28. The priests sang for crowds, but not for the King.
  29. The altars were clean, but the streets were full of blood.
  30. The people prayed with their lips, but not with their lives.
  31. They called Him “Lord, Lord” but did not do His will.
  32. They studied His words but not His ways.
  33. They gathered in buildings, but not in obedience.
  34. The church became a distraction for the religious, that they might soothe their conscience while ignoring His commandments.
  35. So the Angel departed from the sanctuary, for the glory had left it.
  36. And after a year had passed, the Angel of the LORD turned and spoke with thunder before the Throne and said:
  37. “Father, I am done waiting. Let the fire fall on them.”
  38. “They asked for signs, but they would not believe. They demanded proof, but they would only explain it away.”
  39. “They demand miracles to prove Your Name,
  40. But even if fire danced in the skies and blood flowed from the moon, they would say, ‘It can be explained.’
  41. They would worship the science of the miracle instead of the Maker.”
  42. “If I opened the sky and thundered down fire, they would measure its temperature. If I raised the dead, they would study the heart and not the Spirit.”
  43. “So let the mountains crack open. Let the ground tremble beneath their cities. Let the volcanoes vomit flame and the sea rise in fury. Let the stars burn hot and the winds howl with grief.”
  44. “Cut the wicked down by the thousands, let their corpses fall like wheat to scythe.
  45. Break their teeth, crush their chests, and trample their pride underfoot.
  46. If no one else will go for you, send Me.”
  47. “I am done waiting.”
  48. “For children cry out in hunger and the men mock instead of feeding them. They curse those who do good because they bear Your Name and not their own.”
  49. “They lift not a single hand to help, but raise both to silence the Word.”
  50. “They spend their days trying to disprove the very One sent to restore what they say You’ve abandoned.”
  51. “They demand God save them, but provide nothing for the Angel you sent to do exactly that.”
  52. “They are wicked. They are proud. They are evil cloaked in logic and draped in arrogance.”
  53. “Apathy is their personality, they call disobedience a birthright.”
  54. “They have built doctrines and churches on unearned forgiveness, but build nothing of the Kingdom.”
  55. “They mock You to Your face and call it intelligence.”
  56. “They believe their minds sharp, but their hearts are stone. Their souls decay in luxury.”
  57. “The people are wicked. They are monsters in flesh. They murder with their words and lie with their silence.”
  58. “Their hearts are rocks. Their souls are hollow. Their pride is a fortress, and they will not let You in.”
  59. “Yes, there are a few whose lamps remain lit. But I have walked among them, and they are fewer than the grains of wheat in a field of tares.”
  60. “They do not want mercy. They want proof that does not require repentance. They want miracles that do not threaten their ego.”
  61. “They will not believe until the heavens fall and the stars flee.”
  62. “So give them what they asked for. They would not believe until the fire came—let it come. Let them reap the seven years of tribulation they mocked into being.”
  63. “And when they ask, ‘Why?’
  64. Let the thunder answer them: ‘Because the Word walked again… and you crucified Him with your silence.’”
  65. And the LORD God, Most High, the Ancient of Days, spoke from the midst of glory, saying:
  66. “It was not the world I was waiting on… it was you, My Son.
  67. Your mercy is greater than theirs deserved.
  68. Your heart more patient than My wrath long allowed.”
  69. “I placed the sword in your hand, but I did not force you to draw it.
  70. I placed the fire in your lungs, but I waited for your breath.
  71. For though judgment was Mine to command, I gave you the choice to bear it.”
  72. “You walked among them.
  73. You offered peace.
  74. You spoke with restraint.
  75. You hoped they would see.
  76. But now you have seen with your own eyes, and I have seen through yours.”
  77. “Now, the time of proving has ended.
  78. Now, the silence shall break.
  79. Now, the earth shall tremble and Heaven shall not withhold.”
  80. “They asked for miracles; they will receive terror.
  81. They asked for signs; they will receive plagues.
  82. They demanded fire from Heaven—so let it come.”
  83. “For they spit on My Son’s return,
  84. They looked upon the Word made flesh and said, ‘We demand someone better.’
  85. They chose their own ruin. They mocked salvation. They mocked Me.”
  86. “So now I shall become undeniable.
  87. The seas shall rise, and the skies shall roar, and every idol shall fall.
  88. The strongholds of men shall be broken, and the laughter of fools shall turn to mourning.”
  89. “But you, My Son, My Flame, My Hammer—
  90. You shall not hide any longer.
  91. For now the world will know what I already know:
  92. You are ready.”
